+ Geotechnical Investigations & Field Testing

The Company has a significant site investigation activity and in this frame, it owns a significant number of fully equipped state of the art drilling rigs and related equipment for the execution of deep, inclined horizontal and normal sampling boreholes. It also owns a number of equipment for in situ testing of soil and rock formations, as dilatometers, pressure meters, cone penetrometers etc.

  • Sample Drillings
Scheduling, supervision and execution of sample drillings (perpendicular, inclined and horizontal) in all kinds of formations regardless of depth, such as:
    - Land sampling drillings up to 500m depth.
    - Investigation drillings for the detection of deposits and geothermal fields, up to 1200m depth.
    - Drillings, (with sampling or not), of submarine investigations, ?n navigable means, for the design of harbour projects and submarine foundations and constructions.
The above mentioned tasks are being carried out by use of the geotechnical equipment of the company that consists of fourteen (14) rotary sampling rigs with all the related support equipment.
The Maintenance, Storage and Handling unit resides in Aspropyrgos of Attica and employs experienced technicians.
  • In Situ Tests
In situ tests for the definition of the mechanical parameters of the geo-materials (soil engineering and rock engineering), such as in situ pressuremeter tests (Menard), dilatometer tests (Goodman Jack), static penetrometers test (CPT), etc.
  • Monitoring Instruments
Installation of special monitoring instruments, auxiliary to the geotechnical investigation, such as inclinometers, piezometers, extensometers as well as various types of pore pressure, change of stress field, etc. measurement devices and tools.
  • Soil and Rock Mechanics Tests
Laboratory soil and rock mechanics tests, including all the common tests of natural characteristics and classification, as well as mechanical behavior tests, such as triaxial ground tests, uniaxial tests with the use of extensometers, shear tests, etc. ?ll tests are carried out in the state of the art Laboratory of the company, by specialized scientific personnel, according to the certification system ISO 17025:2005 and following the strictest ASTM, AASHTO, BS specifications.
